Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar is one of the American and British sitarist. She was the first and first woman to receive the British House of Commons Shield she has had 9 Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live on stage and also act as a host at the award ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar, the Indian young sitar star. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil and is also his daughter of Ravi Shankar. Born in London and grew up in New Delhi, she spent the beginning of her career traveling between London as well as New Delhi. She gave her debut performance on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. In Encinitas CA in 1999 she received a high-school diploma. Anouskha is an aspiring young lady, however she's got an remarkable career in the field of music and performance. She regularly accompanies her father during performances, something she has been doing for a number of years. In 1998 she released her debut single album Anourag. Two years later she released the Grammy nomination-winning Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. Stage performance is a large part of her career. She's played in many important venues across the world. The career of Anoushka doesn't only include music. In 2002 she published an autobiography titled Bapi The of My Life. of My Live this is a pictorial biography which pays special tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. Also, in movies in 2003. She played the role in the film Dance Like a Man where she is the role of a teenage Bharat Natyam dancer. Anoushka is still progressing in her career and we can expect many new things that will be coming from this amazing woman. Anoushka lived a long her time in London and Delhi in her early years. Then, she relocated to California for high school. Anoushka Shankar began her musical studies at the age of nine. Four years later, she made her sitar debut in Delhi during her father's 75th birthday celebration. Anoushka gained a lot of experience touring across the globe along with the father. She performed in Carnegie Hall in her teenage years, and recorded at George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. She was the first woman to receive the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament to recognize her musical talent and artistic ability in music and the Asian Arts.
