Angel Olsen, an American singer and songwriter originally born in St. Louis Missouri now is a resident of Asheville North Carolina. Olsen has released six albums to the present: Burn Your Fire for No Witness My Woman All Mirrors Whole New Mess and Big Time. My mother has this gift for children. Her prior album All Mirrors from 2019 featured dark almost gothic synth-rock and an affecting excursion into the orchestral genre of pop. Big Time, the first Olsen album in which she sings with conviction about queer love, is one of the genres with a strong tradition: Country. In some ways, it makes sense.
